How to play your downloadable hen party game

These instructions and 2 scoresheets are included in your download.

You will need…

  • A printer, 10 pieces of paper and scissors.
  • A timer.
  • A blindfold.
  • Music.
  • A hat or bag to stash games in.
  • Enough paper and pens for everyone to be able to draw. Coloured pens are good.
  • Some silly prizes (optional but extra fun).
  • If you are having a hen night in, we recommend also setting a party theme.

Preparing your downloadable hen party game

  • Download the PDF from your ‘My Account’ section of our website to the computer you will print it from.

  • Print out the games and score sheets and cut along the dotted lines. Fold each game and place it in a hat or bag. Mix the stash of fun thoroughly.

Playing the game

This game has a points system. It requires a party master to keep score and to focus the players at times.

  • Welcome the hens and encourage each of them to make a hen related nickname for the person who comes in after them. This is optional but an easy ice -breaker for the attendees.

  • When the hens are settled and the time seems right, get the rooms attention and start the game. Hand the bride the stash hat/bag and ask them to pick one and read it out.

  • The hen with the most points when there are no new tasks left, or when the bride decides to stop, wins the game.

Downloadable hen party game ‘rules’

  • It is effective to give the stash hat/bag to the bride to pick games from, with you, the party master, keeping score and the parties attention on the game.

  • It is fine for the party to take a break from the game. Let things flow, when there is a dip in conversation pull out the stash again.

  • If a game doesn’t feel right for the room just put it back in the stash and take another one. Try playing it again later during the party.

  • Play casually. If there are any disputes about points it’s best to work in everyone’s favour and keep it fun. The bride has the final say.

  • You can play a game multiple times by ‘Returning it to the stash’ when instructed. This helps players rack up points. If a game becomes too repetitive, remove it from the stash.

  • Some games have a word you have to ‘keep secret’. Like Charades, keep the word hidden from the other hens.

Drinking game version

The game uses a point system and does not rely on punishing hens with a drink. However, you can easily add a drinking element, here are some simple suggestions…

  • When a hen arrives you can ask them to make up a hen related nickname for the next person to arrive. Every time someone remembers to call you by your nickname during the game, you have to drink. This game works well as an ice-breaker in addition to being a mean drinking game.

  • Drink every time you lose or don’t participate in a game (except the bride and party master of course).

  • All the hens drink when the bride gets a point.

  • You have to drink if you use a word the brides chooses at the beginning of the game, such as their partner’s name.

  • Please drink responsibly.
